SHOW REPORT OF THE BRITISH BORDER.F.C.C.

80th ANNIVERSARY & CLUB SHOW

BRITISH BORDER FANCY CANARY CLUB

The British Border Fancy Canary Club’s 80th Anniversary and Club Show staged at the Marine Hall, Fleetwood attracted a total entry of 805 birds. This was the largest all Border show to date this year. This was quite pleasing since last year it should have been the International Competition show with an entry of 1160 Birds but the show was cancelled at the last minute due the Avian Flu outbreak. It will be 2010 before the International Competition show will be staged by the BBFCC.

The attendance at the show was as usual quite high with visitors again coming from all parts of England, Scotland, Wales and both Northern and Southern Ireland.  There were also quite a few overseas visitors from Europe and the U S A.

This year with it being our 80th Anniversary Year a Dinner Dance was held at the North Euston Hotel, Fleetwood. This was fully booked from half way through the year, with a 102 guest’s who enjoyed a three course sit down meal, and danced the night way to the sound of Scotty our DJ and Disco. Also a duo called “Classic Sound” entertained us with songs and impressions of world famous entertainers. This was a very enjoyable evening and hopefully will be repeated next year.

The BBFCC was presented with a wall Plaque from “The Border & Fife Club of Germany” and A Bannerette from ”The Border Canary Club of Italy”. To whom we send our sincere thanks to.

We would like to thank all exhibitors and visitors for their continued support and help at the show, not forgetting the ladies who sat on the door for two days. Without their support the show would not have been as successful as it was.

Also a big thank you, to all our Judges who did a tremendous job.
